IRC Package (Machine Synchronisation)

If you have multiple ViViPOS terminals synchronised together and have made changes to the menu that you wish to copy across to the rest of the machines you will need to follow this procedure.

Machine synchronisation requires 1 terminal to be the Master and the rest Slaves pulling data from the Master. So any changes made need to be made on the Master and copied onto the rest of the terminals.

Master Terminal:

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel
  2. Select Network Services
  3. Click on Inter-Register Comms in the top right corner and click Add to create a new package.
  4. You will need to enter the following details.
    1. Description - is not compulsory but is recommended as it will help you differentiate when multiple packages are present.
    2. Estimated Time - you would ideally set a timeframe at least 5 min into the future. This governs when your package will be available to download onto each Slave machine.
    3. Modules - in this section you will select the modules you wish to copy across. We recommend only selecting the following modules when sending the IRC package: Function Keys, Employees, Product Related. Note: Selecting anything else could cause operation issues to the machines.
  5. Click on Create Package.
  6. All your packages will show up on the left hand side of the screen from which you can Refresh or Delete them as well as Add new ones.

Slave Terminals:

  1. Within Network Services (see steps 1 - 2). Your Slave terminal's settings will need to include:
    1. The Master Terminals IP Address in the synchronisation and IRC fields shows below.
    2. make sure the following IRC triggers are ticked as this will govern when you package will become available on the Slave machine. ie after you Sign in or Sign out

  2. A pop up will appear on the Slave terminal (when the trigger is ticked and executed) of an available update.
  3. Simply click ok and the machine will download and apply the IRC package and restart automatically.
