Epson Printer Self-Test

Epson printers are set up at the factory to be appropriate for almost all users. There are, however, some settings for users
with special requirements. Matching the communication settings to your POS System can be done using the information provided with the Self-Test print.

Step-by-step guide

Running the self test:

  1. Insert the paper roll if not done so already

  2. Note the correct direction the paper is to be inserted.
  3. Make sure the printer is turned off and the printer covers are
    closed properly.

  4. While holding down the FEED button, turn on the printer using
the switch on the front of the printer to begin the self test. The
self test prints the printer settings

  5. Your print out will look something like this.

The self test lets you know if your printer is operating properly. It
checks the control circuits, printer mechanisms, print quality, ROM
version, and DIP switch settings.
This test is independent of any other equipment or software.
